Today in class you discussed one of the Group Forum Questions about The United Nations and Reform. Think about the ideas your group discussed and post the answer to the question in paragraph form on your blog. You also need to bring a hard copy of your answer to the next class since we will be sharing our ideas and discussing the questions as a whole class.
Keep in mind that I will be looking at the structure as well as content of your paragraph. Your paragraph should have the following for a perfect score.
Strong, topic sentence explains points to be discussed.
Clear main idea(s) provides reasons, details, or facts with transitions.
Specific supporting sentences explain main idea(s) with examples and evidence.
Strong, clear concluding sentence provides clear link and closure to topic.
Fantastic Job Block D E and H! I very much enjoyed today’s classes and everyone did a great job. I especially liked the great costumes people created to help them accurately present the person/god they chose.
Your homework has two parts. Please post Part I and Part II separately.
Part I
On your own blog in the title section, write “Famous Egyptians Speech”
In the post section, post your speech first and then a picture of the person/god with the url below it.
Part II
On your own blog in the title section, write “Famous Egyptians Reflection”
Make sure to write a full paragraph describing your feelings in response to the following statement and question . Make sure to spell check, grammar check, read out loud, and format with paragraph spacing before you click publish.
Think about class today and reflect on the presentations you listened to. Explain with details and specific information what you learned and what you found interesting about the presentations you heard in class.
What would you change to improve your speech/presentation if you were to do the assignment again?
Introduction- This should be catchy, interesting, and a reflection of you as a speaker! You want to arouse your audiences curiosity.
- Hook- interesting or emotional comment used to catch reader’s attention
- General Comments- interesting background information (define key terms)
- Thesis Statement- specific topic of the essay/explains ideas of the body paragraphs
Conclusion- The reader should see the importance of your essay, and finish thinking about what you have said.
- Ideas of thesis statement- use different words than those in the introduction
- Comments- may include a summary of the main ideas, an evaluation of other ideas, and/or the writer’s opinion
- Final statement- a final thought that ties up the topic
